In this paper, a fundamental understanding of the densification mechanics polymeric syntactic foams under compressive loading is established. These are closed cell composite with thin-walled microballoons dispersed in matrix (resin) whose structure provides excellent mechanical properties, like high strength and low density. There several parameters that can contribute towards their including, microballoon volume fraction, wall thickness, bonding between matrix, crushing microballoons. Conducting purely experimental testing by varying these be very time sensitive expensive. Also, identification challenging using experiments only. Higher stress energy favorable properties foam compression or crushing. Hence, influence key structural material associated dictate studied here implementing micromechanics based computational models multiple linear regression analysis . Specifically, specific stresses energy, which normalized weight, evaluated more relevant for wide variety weight saving applications.
